John and Kathy’s passion for helping horses and teaching people laid the groundwork for the creation of Raising The Baar Horsemanship Center. Their vision was to create a facility and atmosphere that is as safe for the learner as it is functional for horse development.

Raising the Baar

“The expectations of life depend upon diligence; the mechanic that would perfect his work must first sharpen his tools.” -Confucius
This morning while I was having my morning read 📖, before braving the arctic that is settled onto Kentucky❄️☃️❄️, I read this quote.
As often happens, my mind reflected on horsemanship.
And I was reminded of the importance of having support specifically support from individuals who can increase our education or awareness in areas that we want to improve.
Doing the “work” the day-to-day effort to reach our goals is important and necessary. Along with that, making sure that we don’t get stuck in the “work” and that we continue to learn/sharpen our tools.
A good reminder as we move forward into 2025 that the combination of doing the work and learning how to do the most effective work is the way to reach our target.
The picture is one of many lessons that I take in order to “sharpen my tools”⚒️ 🧰
Here’s to a year of growth, learning and tool sharpening 🥂
