Join John and Kathy Baar at Raising The Baar Farm for a fun and educational clinic designed for those just getting started with “ground work” or natural horsemanship. The focus of the weekend will be getting the basics of ground skills to develop your communication, your horse respect and to build your confidence in creating positive patterns with your horse.
The sessions will be in groups with horses and a few discussion groups without horses. The sessions without horses will include simulations and tool handling to help get you more familiar with the equipment and techniques. While with your horse you will be in a group setting and will receive one on one coaching throughout the session.
After establishing some skills and communication in the arena the group will spread out and use the techniques with obstacles and on uneven ground. Building the horses confidence and respect. As well as the fundamentals for a good relationship.
This is a good clinic for you if you are looking to improve your horse’s ground manners, increase your understanding of how to use ground skills to enhance your horsemanship or if you have a young horse that you would like to expose to more environments in a supportive way.
We recommend you come with a rope halter, 12-22′ lead line and a carrot stick (or similar stiff stick with a string). Some equipment may be available, if you arrange in advance.
